P  a  i   n  t   Track Rail with Rusty Rails Painter® 

 Our custom formulated flat acrylic paints are specially formulated to work best in the Rusty Rails Painter tool!

 Nickel silver track has very smooth metal. So is the old bare brass track. Unless it is brand new or recently taken out of packaging- it is being subjected to at least atmospheric air. That just does contain the invisible molecules of dust, sticky pollen, power circulated hvac air from areas like the kitchen. Yes, even the bacon grease next to a pot of boiling water kind of air. And smoking, etc. That's just the way it is in 99% of even partially enclosed homes.

Anti-corrosion coatings like nickel on the steel is great but that is mainly to prevent the surface of the rails to loose electrical connectivity. Not from steel rail sides to look clean. Coverage without shiny metal showing through or avoiding streaks is an issue. 

  Brushing means having to going over bare metal streaks. Difficult and tedious. Even with track in hand.

Spraying paint on the rails is well.. more sophisticated. Requires a steady hand, masking, and preferably unlaid track prior to ballast.

 So we start with the highest quality pigmented flat acrylic base. Then we mix our desired compatible tints and chemical additives. This includes alcohol and adhesive bonding agents. This improves smoother flow through a very small metal paint tube, and adhesion without a primer. The paint does dry faster than a normal acrylic but that is our trade off to have a custom made formula to suit our paint tool and provide good results for you.
