Rusty  Rails Painter

 Instructions and Tips

* Tip-   Always ( you won't be sorry ) assemble or disassemble a RRP tool... OVER  A  TABLE  TOP!

We do offer parts but rather you not lose them on the same day you want to weather the track !

Recent manufacturer's formula and our newest stock in Urethane open cell foam has our foam rollers now with a much longer shelf life - up to 2-3 years. Previously the black open cell Urethane foam rollers (as we later learned) began to self disintegrate in less than a year only when exposed to any daylight!

Typical Instructions provided with every Rusty Rails Painter tool and Starter kit

Roller should be adjusted to turn with a slight drag when dry then roll smooth once lubricated with paint. You can adjust the roller during painting if needed. Make adjustment on nut- finger tight, or use # 00 Phillips bit to tighten. The Flow Port is at the outside edge of the disk. Gently squeeze soft plastic bottle to prime and fill the paint tube. Roller will wick paint from port hole as you roll. A continued squeeze is key to the flow of the paint.  Rolling back and forth on some cardboard first to saturate the foam roller is recommended. Temperature and mix affects paint flow. If flow is too slow– warm bottle in hot water and or thin with alcohol until flow improves. Mix / shake well. Practice on a piece of track first to learn your flow rate before starting on layout.

To open a clogged tube use monofilament line or welding wire through the port and force a warm water stream through screen.

Paint screen / Paint Tube / Mounting Plate / is secured to cap with Epoxy. Safe for hot water and mineral spirits!

Avoid drying of paint over any pivoting parts.

Do not store paint in the tool!
