The Hobby Model Trains' paint roller tool specially designed to paint model railroad track. And it has now evolved to be designed better than ever. Now made in the USA with better tool and die work and top notch quality.
Rusty Rails Painter® is far easier to use than air brush, artist brush, or paint pens. It is reusable, refillable, easier to clean, has more roller sizes suitable to the same tool, and has a new design features:
The flow-port is now a bit larger and moved much closer to the foam roller's immediate edge. That hole is also crimped forward to push paint to the face of the roller's edge. Also a longer anti-corrosion nickel plated paint tube and a washable stainless steel paint screen mounted inside the cap. A removable lubricated O-ring to seal against leaking paint or weathering dyes. A softer plastic for easier maneuverability and easier priming. When a gentle squeeze to the new softer bottle is applied this provides better consistent paint flow. Air uptake/ replacement is instant when a squeeze is relaxed.
This mini paint roller is far more efficient in painting all sides of the rails with easier coverage. Cleaner work on already ballasted track is easy! The only consumable is the foam roller and the paint. Wash the tool and reuse it! The metal parts are epoxy mounted. Washing with dish detergent and hot water, or mineral spirits is fine!
Rusty Rails Painter® also works great for weathering sleepers and spikes, structures, roofing, landscape such as lines on streets and crosswalks, etc! Showing the transparency of the wood grain on the sleepers through our Limestone or Rust colored weathering dye looks fantastic. Install a wider or thinner foam roller, add diluted paint or Joe's Custom Weathering Dyes and you are ready to go!
Foam Rollers:
Looking at our inventory in storage we happen to have a lot of Urethane Foams. The large "minimum order" we need to meet for our special order cell density for our rollers was more than we can reasonably expect to use and sell within the useable life expectancy of about 4 years for a top quality urethane foam.
Buy any scale Rusty Rails Painter® tool or Starter Kit and for the rest of 2024 the next rollers are free. After your initial order (with rollers included) is shipped / received and you need more rollers- just send a stamped self addressed envelope to us for another 5 fresh rollers!
