Subject: A Product Review ---
Here's a bit of a product review --- those of you that have
visited the C&S RR here in my back room realize that (if I ever get it
finished) I have about 1700 feet of HO scale track to paint the sides of
before I ballast the rails. Well friend Dean Freytag ordered me one
of the "Rusty Rail Painters" starter kits for me. Now this rail
painter is about as neat as sliced bread --- I found it to do a good job
and accomplish the task with ease. They send two colors of rail
paint (rusty and flat black) with the painter which (see attached photo)
rolls along the track side and applies the desired color paint --- it
worked fine for me so I had Dean order me another one because I'm sure
that I will wear this one out. They include several extra little
paint rollers and a sheet of instructions which were helpful. A
quick bright-boy rail head wipe off and I'm ready to spread my ballast.
If you are like me and have "miles" of track to work on, then
this little idea is super --- enjoy,
PS. Below is the info about this product manufacturer:

and...
Joe, You have my permission to use this in your advertising
and marketing campaigns:
"I have been modeling trains for over twenty years and I pay close attention
to detail, which includes
"weathering" track. I am most pleased with the results I have gotten with
Joe's Model Trains unique
Rusty Rails track weathering tool. I have used an airbrush, chemically
blackening and the trusty red sable brush but for ease and speed this system
beats them all, especially for track that has already been laid. And with
Joe's paint you can
custom blend shades to your liking. Grungy Black for the yards, rusty for
branch lines, team track, dead end sidings and reddish brown for main lines.
Also, a nice feature with Joe's paints is they flow out of the tool with just
the right consistency. Not too thick and not to runny. But, just like with
an airbrush, you need to practice a little bit with this tool to become
familiar with how it works and getting used to it's characteristics. Once you
do, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it!"
